GiffGaff recently announced a cut to their European free roaming data allowance for UK customers, from 20GB to 5GB. So this new offer of more free credit for a limited time should, hopefully, counteract that loss a bit. At least for new customers.

5GB is still better than nothing, and if users monitor their data more carefully, going on GiffGaff's claim that in 2019 90% of their users gobbled up less than 5GB when roaming in the EU on a monthly basis, the majority of people should still remain below the free limit. Any usage over the free 5GB will be charged at 10 Pence for each extra MegaByte used.
Other providers have done the same. Tesco are also going to be charging users for EU roaming, which comes into force in January 2023. And Sky Mobile's EU roaming charges for UK customers are already in force since May 2022.
While I am against spending a big chunk of money on any hyped up dumb phone because a normal basic phone will do the job, the updated Light Phone 2 isn't actually that bad. However, the price tag is definitely on the steep side. And with a battery life of just one to two days, for such a minimal "light" phone, wow, that is extremely bad. Head SAR level is also high @ 1.20 W/kg. Save some money and get yourself something else, like a Samsung B2100 Tough phone. That's what I use.
It's got a good torch, makes and receives calls + texts, has 5 alarms, a countdown timer, stopwatch, SD slot and the battery life is excellent. What more do you need if you're looking to do a cold turkey from your Smartphone addiction. I know there's a lot of people from the UK who want to know where they can find the Light Phone 2 for sale. Amazon does not appear to stock this model at this time.
There are two main places. Those are eBay UK and the official Light Phone website [thelightphone.com]. eBay is your best bet in the UK, but do make sure the seller and the phone is located in the UK to avoid having to pay import taxes and to get the correct phone model etc.
All light phone II's going through eBay auctions get a lot of attention, so be prepared to bid quite high, even for phones that are slightly faulty. The official website ships to the United Kingdom, but due to the company shipping from the USA, or direct from their manufacturer, this may come with sales tax, VAT, and customs or duty charges.
Also be aware of their returns policy. It's not very flexible. At this time thelightphone.com only accept returns for items with manufacturer defects.
People located in the UK will need the Light Phone 2 International model [TLP202]. The International model works with Vodafone, Three, BT and GiffGaff. Sadly O2 and EE [That would most probably mean Orange and T-Mobile] are not compatible. However you may be able to get the phone unlocked to all networks, but there is no guarantee.
If that doesn't work and you really want the phone, you can always just transfer your phone number [SIM] to another mobile network carrier [listed above] that is compatible with the Light Phone 2 International model. Note: This phone takes a Nano size SIM card.
Do you know how much money has been spent by the big telecom companies on independent testing for 5G? The answer might shock you. Absolutely nothing. Not a penny. If 5G is so safe wouldn't companies like Vodafone be jumping at the chance to prove the technology they are forcing on the public is harmless.

Vodafone and the rest of the players who have huge vested interests in this rollout are always talking up "The benefits of full 5G" and how they want to help get more people in rural areas connected. But how many times do they address the health implications of this technology from the massive amounts of harmful radiation that's beamed out over the UK population from the phone masts.
This check is by no means a certainty that your phone hasn't been hacked, as there are many stealthy and sophisticated methods used / developed by groups and organizations that have both some of the best hackers, vulnerability finders, the most advanced programs / software / hardware, and big budgets to play with.
So some methods are harder to detect, and some are more than likely running right now on Smartphones or other devices of people deemed to be targets of interest but are so new and undetectable that no one even knows they exist yet other than the makers themselves and a few select people involved in the operation / project.
Take Pegasus for example, the spyware that was made by the Israeli cyber-arms company NSO Group. That was successfully installed on many devices before it became known about. From journalists and actors to business men and politicians, Pegasus has hacked many devices and obtained information on Government officials and detractors alike. Even Jeff Bezos [founder of Amazon] was a victim.
Pegasus is still used today, although there are known methods out there on the Internet that can be used to detect its installation. One being WhatsApp, in which the NSO group was actually sued by WhatsApp's chief Will Cathcart for hacking the platform to gain backdoor access to users smartphones.
Pegasus has been bought by Governments and agencies, including America's own FBI. Although the FBI claim to have not used it. For something that apparently cost them nine million dollars to buy, it seems like an expensive purchase for it to just sit there and never be used.
Moving on. With all that said above, this little check is still worth performing. It works on most mobile phones, both "dumb" and "smart" and works with the two most popular operating systems, Android and Apple iOS.
From your phones main screen type *#21# [that's star, hash 2, 1, hash] and press call. After a few seconds a screen should pop up showing if any of your supposedly private information, such as SMS, voice calls, Sync, Data etc on your phone is being forwarded to anywhere else. The result you want is for all of them to read Not Forwarded.
There may be false, or true read outs of Forwarded if you yourself have set up a forwarder on any of the communications on the list. Forwarding your voice calls for example, so be aware of that.
Just for the fun of it, I would be interested to see the results of this check when Pegasus is known to be installed on a device. I would imagine all results would read Not Forwarded.
In this post I will talk a bit about how GiffGaff refer a friend works, and show payment proof of my affiliate commissions received from GiffGaff. These days it can be overwhelming with how much choice we have at every turn and choosing a mobile network is no exception. In a perfect world we would all like the most (texts/minutes/data) for the least amount of money. Sadly this is not always the case. A "Dumb" phone, as in a non-smartphone, is actually the best phones you can own. A lot of people are starting to realize this and are making the transition back over to a standard phone. Thankfully, I don't have to make that transition as I have never owned a Smartphone, and never will.
Excellent Torch: The Samsung B2100 [on GiffGaff / O2]
Okay, with that out the way, what is a non-smartphone that has a really good torch light. I don't know which one is the best, because I haven't used every standard phones torch, but in my own experience the Samsung B2100 has the best torch light out of all the mobile phones I have used. It's the phone I currently use.
And if the phone broke I would no doubt buy another one in used but good condition. Good all round phone, very tough, and waterproof! Perfect for someone like me. Sadly, the B2100 can't be bought brand new anymore [unless you can find one on eBay], it's no longer in production.
The most impressive feature about the torch for me is that its not like the light on most smartphones, where they have an even spread of light. No, the light on the Samsung B2100 has a good spread, but also has a stronger point at the end that can be angled to get that little bit of extra targetted light that's sometimes needed to shine on something far away, or something close for more clarity etc.

We've seen quite a few miniature mobile phones by Long-CV over the years. This one, the Long-CZ V2 looks quite promising. Don't get your hopes too high though. Yes, it's a tiny novelty phone, and it does have some decent features, but the battery life isn't great, and there are some reports of the phones reliability being a bit hit and miss. This is the case with many of the really small phones, not just the ones made by Long CZ.
However, it is a decent choice if you only want to use it occasionally, like taking it with you on a night out rather than taking your expensive Smartphone, or for "beating the boss", which is the main reason why so many people buy these types of mini phones.
My favourite little phone by Long CZ is the J8. The J9 is also a goodmodel, as is the Zanco Beetle. You can read more about the J8 model here. The Long CZ V2 is apparently made of 99% plastic. So potentially, this model can pass a metal detector depending on how sensitive to metal the detector is.
Some of the features of this phone include: 2G (micro SIM), GSM 850/900.1800/1900 (no CDMA) Unlocked to most of the major phone networks, text messaging, Bluetooth, Phonebook, music player, Alarm, Radio (requires a 5 pin earphone connection) and a Voice Changer. If the people of Pakistan don't get their Covid-19 vaccination within the deadline date set by the Government, they will have their mobile phone SIM card turned off. How's that for bribery. Have you ever heard of something so ridiculous. Whatever happened to having a choice of whether you want to be injected or not. You know, like my body my choice, I'll take it if I want to. What they are attempting to do here is straight up blackmail, and I hope the people of Pakistan revolt to this new measure. It's getting beyond ridiculous now.
But then again, this "straight up blackmail" that I speak of is nothing new, and certainly isn't limited to what we are seeing here with the disabling of SIM cards, or just exclusive to Pakistan. No, since the beginning of this "episode" freedoms and privacy on a worldwide scale have been taken away and are basically being held hostage.
I'm sure you don't need me to list what those are. I mean, the main one is obviously being "locked down" like a prisoner in your own home. That's bad enough. But with how hard Governments are pushing these vaccines, and with Covid-19 having such a high survival rate for those with no underlying health conditions, it really should make one question the desperation from the Governments to get everyone vaccinated. Is it all about keeping you safe? Are they so concerned about your health, or is there a lot more to this than meets the eye.
So, how can indivduals get around this problem. They don't want to take the "vaccine" and their SIM gets turned off. Well, have you ever heard of a burner or unregistered phone / SIM Card? That's what these people will need to do, get their hands on a new unregistered SIM card.
Even though I believe a new law was brought in, where all phones bought after a certain time period have to be registered if buying them online from, say, Amazon, it is still fairly easy to get an unregistered SIM card online. But it is getting harder due to how many companies now require the details of the buyer / new owner, the "activation" of the SIM (see below for a way round this), and also the noting down the trackable IMEI number of the phone itself. So buy some SIMs now if you think you might need them in the future before it gets tougher to obtain them.
Buying a used mobile phone that comes with a SIM Card (or buying a used SIM card on its own) is probably the easiest way to get back up and running. Yes, it will be "registered" or "activated" to someone, but that won't be you. It will more than likely be the previous owner. Some people in the online marketing sectors buy hundreds of SIMs at a time for certain projects (telesales, text marketing etc). In terms of staying completely anonymous, of course it depends on many things.
Such as how you paid for the SIM / Mobile phone, where was it posted to, who's name is on the account used for purchase. If you want to remain totally anonymous, all these and more will need to be taken into consideration.
However, for the issue of the Government turning off your normal SIM card due to refusal of vaccination, I doubt they will hunt you down when you get a new one, if they even know (not registered to you), so don't worry too much. And what are they going to do, check on you in person every few months to see if you have a new phone / SIM.
Really, Governments who follow Pakistan's lead in trying to enforce this draconian law are really shooting themselves in the foot. You see, along with the Internet itself, the Smartphone is the biggest and most successful tool for tracking, surveillance, behavioral science and social engineering that has ever existed. Since most Smartphones are now Internet connected, It's now also took the number one spot for propaganda, which was previously held for many years by the te-lie-vision.
So, imagine if many countries try and follow the Pakistan Governments lead, but to their surprise the scare tactics don't work and people say - I'm not having the jab, here you are, here's my SIM Card, turn it off or whatever you want to do with it, I won't have a phone anymore.
Let's say if millions of people called the Governments bluff and done this in each country. Do you really think the Governments would see that as a success... No, their scare tactics didn't work, It's a total failure. As soon as they discover that people are throwing their phones away by the thousands, or being happy using them with no SIM, those plans would be scrapped immediately.
They didn't succeed in getting the people who won't be blackmailed jabbed, and now they can't even monitor them, or push endless social engineering, political correctness and propaganda in order to control, condition and ultimately enslave them.
The people who resist are actually better off without a Smartphone, as they are then no longer a slave to the one thing, in pocket form, that almost everyone in this world feels they can not live without. The level of dependency is off the scale, and Governments (and the think tanks, secret societies and elite families that guide and control them) know this. Which is why they are threatening to take this away from people. It seems like a very desperate, almost laughable attempt to get people to conform. They have shown their hand.
I could write on about many different issues related to this, and about how the Governments, and the people who operate their strings use the media (which they also have total control of) to purposely put out articles and videos to use as measuring sticks for gauging public opinion to their upcoming plans. And how they use these media pieces as secret polls to see if the public will go along with the next stage of their own enslavement, or whether they need to package it differently and attack from another angle in order to fool the public into accepting their plans under the guise of a perceived threat or something good for all. But I won't.

If you have a Vodafone PAYG sim already then I believe that will work fine, and of course the price will be whatever you already pay now. The Smart First 6 is also locked to the Vodafone Network but can be unlocked for very cheap (£1 on eBay with an unlock code).
